Confirming Research Activity - Quick Guide
Confirm Research Activity Section
Log into CPMS and select “Confirm Research Activity” from the left-hand side navigation bar. This will take you to a list of your studies.
Locate your study and click “Confirm Research Activity” to enter the confirmation screen.
Set the Research Activity Period to “until the end of last month” to filter out anything from the current month
By default, your confirmation page will be the high level overview, ‘Study View’
Study View
In the 'Study View' you can review and confirm the study level data since the last time you confirmed activity. If the total number of participants shown is correct, you can click "Confirm as Accurate" on this page.
After you do so, always make sure to click "Save"
If the information is not correct and you need to see more specific data to find the discrepancy, you can use ‘STUDY SITE VIEW’ & ‘DETAILED VIEW'
Study Site View
In the 'Study Site View', the research activity is broken down by recruiting site
You can filter to search for a specific participating site using the 'Site Name' filter.
If you know the total number of participants since the last time you confirmed research activity for each site shown is correct, you can click "Confirm as Accurate" for the site.
After you do so, always make sure to click "Save"
If there is inaccurate information, you can use DETAILED VIEW to see a further breakdown of the data.
Detailed View
In the 'Detailed View' the research activity is broken down by site, month/year and participant type.
You can filter by participating site, confirmation status, participant status and time period using the filters above the 'Detailed View' to help identify a discrepancy
For each individual row, you can click "Confirm as Accurate" or "Confirm as Not Accurate"
If you select "Confirm as Not Accurate" you should provide an expected recruitment count for the site and write a message to the site if needed (please ensure this does not include any identifiable information).
This sends a prompt to the site to correct their research activity in their Local Portfolio Management System (LPMS) data. Once this is corrected in LPMS, the amended research activity will appear in CPMS as 'Requires Re-Confirmation'.
(Please note that numbers added here won’t be reflected in your recruitment figures. The number will only change when sites have re-uploaded)
After you have confirmed all of your data, always make sure to click "Save"
If you are still unable to confirm all activity, there is also the option to review the full dataset by downloading an Excel copy of all data received from LPMS. This can be downloaded by clicking "EXPORT ALL LPMS RESEARCH ACTIVITY"
